Check out my review:
Erin by Erin Fetherston—Fall/Winter 2012
The sweet, feminine pieces we’ve come to know and love were on display at the designer’s Fall/Winter 2012 collection presentation, for her line Erin by Erin Fetherston. The models were sitting pretty on gold stumps in flowing chiffon dresses, while the designer herself mingled amongst the crowd of people in the room.
The collection encompassed a mixture of color, print, and metallic shine in pieces that came across as extremely wearable.
It was like walking through an ethereal, picture-book forest, with all of the colorful floral prints and softly draped blouses and gowns.
As beautiful as the pieces in the collection were, it was sometimes hard to remember that this was for the fall/winter. The 36 piece collection felt like it was lacking in the jacket/coat selection and a handful of the dresses gave off a more spring-time vibe, rather than something you’d expect to see for the fall.
There were still many pieces that felt perfect for winter, though. This black marabou feather and gold tinsel shrug was quite dazzling. It also had a long sleeved counterpart that I could imagine an Olsen twin donning in the future.
I really appreciated her use of jade green—which will probably be a popular color this fall. One of my favorite looks of the night, which utilized that shade of green, came in the form of this draped and shirred, chiffon gown. It sums up beautifully what her collection was all about—an easy elegance.
Overall, the line stayed true to Erin’s sweet and feminine aesthetic and showed pieces that will have many women feeling very pretty.
Missa
