Grammy Fashion 2009: The highs & lows.

On the red carpet at last night's Grammy Awards, some outfits really were a hit, while others came off a little flat.

In the female category,
my top three favorites were Sara Bareilles, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood.

The "Love Song" singer's entire look came across perfectly in this pale-peach-pink, strapless, tea-length dress by Louisa Beccari, accented with red heels.

Taylor Swift went for a sultrier look, in this black plunging V-neck dress designed by Kaufman Franc,

while fellow country singer Carrie Underwood was shimmering in a Zuhair Mura crystal and gold slip gown.

Fedora hats and black/white/shades of gray seemed to be the reoccurring trends of the night, with singers such as Jason Mraz and Jordan Sparks sporting them.

Now on to some of the disasters that took place on the carpet.

Paris Hilton forgot to wear pants, and as always, Bai Ling wore the most ridiculous dress of the night, followed closely by M.I.A.

And finally to the close-but-not-quite:

She & Him singer, Zooey Deschanel in this one-shoulder, lavender dress and Welsh singer Duffy, who's dress would've looked much better if it was shortened a bit.

Who were some of your favorites at the night of music?
